"Exploration is not about planting flags or conquering Nature or going somewhere in order to make your mark.
It's about our shared spirit of enquiry - and it's about letting Nature make its mark on you."
BENEDICT ALLEN
Established as one of the world's leading modern-day explorers through expeditions famously achieved without phone, GPS or "backup, " he is one of only two people alive included in the Daily Telegraph's gallery of Great British Explorers (the other being Ranulph Fiennes).

While initially known mostly for his technique of immersing himself among indigenous peoples, Benedict Allen went on to establish the adventure genre in television, through his self-filmed BBC series.

His many expeditions include a first recorded crossing of the Amazon Basin at its widest, and the first known traverse of the entire Namib on foot. It's quite possible that no-one has lived so long isolated and alone in so many potentially hostile remote environments.

Said to be someone who's almost died nine times, certainly his experience of surviving adversity alone in inaccessible terrain is second to none. He uses his knowledge and experience not only to convey the reality of worlds less familiar to us but to help others achieve their own personal targets and succeed in challenging environments back home.
"As one of today's most well known and inspirational explorers, Benedict has undertaken some of the greatest explorations on earth"
